An amazing alternative to your post workout smoothie – this hot chocolate packs 32 grams of easily digestible protein in one mug!
This recipe uses beef protein. If you haven’t tried it yet, you may feel a little funny about it – but I guarantee you its SO delicious. It’s also an amazing alternative to other protein powders that have a tendency to being allergenic or causing digestive upset (i.e. whey protein, some vegan blends).
Ashwagandha and maca are added for a little adaptogenic touch – as always!
Serves 1
Ingredients:
- 1 mug of hot water or nut milk
- 1 scoop ATP Lab Chocolate Swedish Beef Protein
- 1 tbsp collagen powder / hydrolyzed collagen (I like this one)
- 2 tsp cacao powder
- 1 tbsp coconut butter
- 1 tsp ashwagandha
- 1 tsp maca
Directions:
- Add water/nut milk, collagen, cacao powder, coconut butter, ashwagandha, and maca to a blender. Blend on med-high speed for 30 seconds.
- Add Chocolate Swedish Beef Protein, and pulse blender for a couple seconds to combine (do not over process or it may become too frothy)
- Pour into mug and enjoy!
