with cacao and hazelnut
This latte is delicious – it honestly tastes a bit like nutella!
Chaga is a medicinal mushroom that has adaptogenic and healing properties. It’s been used for centuries, is ultra nutrient dense and is an incredibly potent antioxidant. It’s anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, immune modulating, and basically everything good for ya! I like using it in tea and tincture form. The tea has a very mild earthy taste and can actually serve as a great coffee substitute. When you ingest water and alcohol (tincture) herbal extractives, you‘re able to obtain a wider range of benefits from the plant as the different processes draw out different beneficial compounds 💫
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup nut milk
- 1 cup hot chaga tea OR 1 cup hot water + packet of Four Sigmatic Chaga Elixir
- 1 scoop collagen powder/hydrolyzed collagen (I like this one)
- 1 tbsp. hazelnut butter
- 1 tbsp. cacao powder
- 1 tbsp. tocos or rice bran solubles (I like this one)
- 8 drops liquid stevia or 1-2 tsp. raw honey
Directions for Chaga Tea:
- Add 2 tbsp small chaga chunks or ground chaga to 1 litre spring water and simmer at a very low temp for a minimum of 1 hour.
- Strain the liquid and store any extra in glass containers in the fridge.
- Save the chaga and reuse it to make tea a few times, as long as the tea turns a dark reddish brown colour.
Directions for Latte:
- Blend all ingredients on med-high speed for 1 minute.
